Bill
Barker as Thomas Jefferson:
Bill has enjoyed portraying
Thomas Jefferson in a variety of settings over the past twenty years.
He joined The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in the spring of 1993 to
perform as
Jefferson
in a film made to honor Ambassador and Mrs.
Walter H. Annenberg. Bill has
continued to appear as
Jefferson
in Colonial Williamsburg and assists in the
development of further
Jefferson
programs for the Foundation.
He has performed as
Jefferson
in many different venues, including the White
House,
Poplar
Forest
and the
Palace
of
Versailles
. He
has participated in programs aired on ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS, CNN, The History Channel, and C-SPAN.
Publications which have featured Bill include Time, People, Southern Living and Reader’s Digest. He
has received commendations from The City of Philadelphia, The City of St. Louis,
The City of New Orleans, and The Hellenic Ideals Foundation.
In September 2004 Bill was presented the Signey N. Stokes Award by the
Jefferson Legacy Foundation.
John R. Hamant as Aaron Burr:
In his twenty-five years with Colonial Williamsburg, John held the positions of Senior Archaeologist, Character Interpreter, Manager and Director of Evening and Special Programs, and Director of Special Events and Protocol. As a character interpreter he developed the personages of Lord Botetourt, Peyton Randolph, John Greenhow, Lewis Burwell, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Through now semi-retired, John works as a writer, consultant, interpreter of persons of the past, and continues to perform in Colonial Williamsburg evening programs.
