Archaeology at Poplar Forest - Volunteer Opportunities

In the Department of Archaeology and Landscapes, there are a wide variety of opportunities for interested members of the public to help year round.

Our volunteers play an important part in all aspects of our work from the field to the lab. These activities regularly include artifact washing, labeling, and analysis; site excavation; and archiving excavation records such as field notes and photographs.

No prior experience is needed and times are flexible. All that’s required is a good attitude and a willingness to learn. For more information about volunteering in the archaeology department or somewhere else at Poplar Forest, please visit our volunteer opportunities webpage.
