Cast
Bill
Barker as Thomas Jefferson:
Bill combines his love of theatre with his interest in history to develop his
interpretation of Thomas Jefferson. He joined The Colonial Williamsburg
Foundation in 1993 and has appeared as a Jefferson character interpreter in many different
venues, including the White House, Poplar Forest and the Palace of Versailles.
He has participated in programs
aired on ABC, NBC, CBS, PBS and CNN. Publications
which have featured Bill include Time Magazine, People, Southern Living and
Reader’s Digest. For the past four years Bill has been featured in Poplar
Forest’s “Shaping the World: Conversations on Democracy” educational program.
John
R. Hamant as Charles Cotesworth Pinckney:
In his
twenty-five years with Colonial Williamsburg, John held the positions of Senior
Archaeologist, Character Interpreter, Manager and Director of Evening and Special Programs,
and Director of Special Events and Protocol. As a character
interpreter he developed the personages of Lord Botetourt, Peyton Randolph, John
Greenhow, Lewis Burwell, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Though now semi-retired,
John works as a writer, consultant, interpreter
of persons of the past, and continues to perform in Colonial Williamsburg
evening programs.
Donald
Coleman as George Clinton:
Prior to a
career move to education and the performing arts, Don was employed as a Federal
Criminal Investigator/Special Agent with the United States
departments of Treasury and Commerce. He
has written newspaper features and a weekly column, appeared on stage, screen
and television , and done voice-over , commercial and commentary work on radio.
For twelve years, Don was a character interpreter for the Colonial
Williamsburg Foundation, portraying no fewer than seven different persons of the
past.
Steven
Holloway as Rufus King:
Steven
has been actively involved in theatre for the past twenty-five years.
He was first cast in productions of the Williamsburg Players and the
Virginia Shakespeare Festival. In
1980 he was cast as a member of the Colonial Williamsburg Company of Comedians
with whom he performed lead roles for twenty years.
He continues on the staff of interpreters with the Colonial Williamsburg
Foundation, and has appeared in over a dozen educational and independent films
as well as numerous television commercials.
