Shaping the Scuppers at the Ends of the Gutter Joists

After the restoration carpenters created channels in the gutter joists to drain water from the yet-to-be-built roof, they then used saws to cut the scuppers at the ends of each gutter joist.  The scuppers protrude through the frieze portion of the entablature as a water spout, as shown in the small image below.
