Installation of the Entablature Along the Wing Roof

The restoration craftsmen have been working to create and put in place the entablature along the roof of the wing of offices.
The first step was to cut and shape holes in the lower part of the entablature (frieze) to fit around the scuppers which protrude from each gutter joist.
Next, the craftsmen put up the cornice backer at an angle.  This board will support the cornice as it is installed.
Lastly, the cornice was installed.  The cornice sits above the frieze. The photos below show the work in progress and when completed.
At left is a close-up of the completed entablature.

The entablature consists of (from bottom to top): the architrave, the frieze and the cornice, as shown on the right.
