Shaping and Placing the Ridge Caps

The restoration craftsmen have completed the process of shaping and placing the ridge caps on each of the ridge joists on the wing roof.  Because each ridge joist varied slightly, each cap had to be hand-shaped to insure a tight fit.

Below are photos of the craftsmen marking, planing and testing the fit of ridge caps.  The bottom photo shows the completed job.  The next step will be the installation of sleeper boards in preparation for the decking.
