Join the conversation! Poplar Forest is the place to be on April 24th as Mr. Jefferson hosts Patrick Henry at his retreat home for delightful historical theater.
With performances selling out each year, “Conversations with Thomas Jefferson,” is an annual crowd favorite. In 2010, Poplar Forest will again present two performances.

Matinee
Reception at 1:30 p.m., Performance at 2:15 p.m.
Tickets to the matinee include afternoon tea and the performance. The house is not open for afternoon program ticket holders. However, matinee ticket holders may purchase a tour ticket before or after the performance at a reduced rate of $7.00 for adults and $1.00 for youth.

At the Door: $28.00 Adult, $14.00 Youth (6-16)

Wine and hors d'oeuvre reception at 7:00 p.m., Performance at 8:00 p.m.
Evening ticket holders will have the opportunity to mingle with Jefferson and his guest during a wine reception on the lawn beginning at 7:00 p.m. Stationed tours of Jefferson's retreat home are included with tickets to the evening performance.

Thomas Jefferson is portrayed by Bill Barker of Colonial Williamsburg. Mr. Barker has portrayed Jefferson for more than 20 years, appearing in such diverse locations as The White House and the Palace of Versailles. Patrick Henry will be portrayed by Richard Schumann, who has portrayed Henry at Colonial Williamsburg for the past fifteen years. He is seen and heard by thousands in such venues as television, movies, podcasts, the Internet, magazines, and radio, as well as walking the streets of Colonial Williamsburg.
