Update—We Met the Challenge!

Thanks to a matching challenge from the National Society Daughters of American Colonists (NSDAC), your gifts will now go twice as far!

The NSDAC challenged us to raise $5,000 for the publication of Colonial Klaus in Thomas Jefferson’s House, enabling us to cover the costs of publishing fees and custom illustrated artwork, along with the funding of future copies of the book, printed on demand. Thanks to your generosity, we met the challenge by the October 1 deadline! The NSDAC will now match that amount for a grand total of $10,000 to support Colonial Klaus.

To all those who gave, thank you so much for your generosity! If you are still interested in contributing, it’s not too late. Take a moment to make your gift today.

We’re raising funds for the publishing of an upcoming children’s book entitled Colonial Klaus in Thomas Jefferson’s House, which offers a unique look at the local history that shaped our nation.

Written by Laura Macaluso and lavishly illustrated with one-of-a-kind watercolor portraits, Colonial Klaus in Thomas Jefferson’s House tells the tale of a daring dachshund named Klaus who travels back in time to meet the people of Poplar Forest, offering a unique look at what makes our shared local history so special.

With your support, we can make sure this story is told, and make sure that you’re recognized for your generosity.

Your gift, no matter the size, directly helps Poplar Forest reach its goal of bringing Colonial Klaus in Thomas Jefferson’s House to life. All donors who give $50 or more will become members of Poplar Forest, entitling you to a 20% discount on tickets to future events held on our grounds.*
