8th Annual Thomas Jefferson Wine Festival
November 19 @ 11:00 am - 5:00 pm
Thomas Jefferson called wine “…a necessary of life with me.” Join thousands of like-minded wine enthusiasts at his secluded plantation for a Virginia wine festival like no other, featuring Virginia wineries along with artisans, local food purveyors and musical entertainment. It is held inside large, heated tents, rain or shine. Tasting tickets include a complimentary wine glass. Because this is an adult event, there are no children’s activities available. We ask that attendees refrain from bringing outside food or drink. With the exception of service dogs, pets are prohibited. Hotel packages will be available.
Guests who purchase VIP tickets will gain access to a special tent located on the rooftop of the retreat’s wing of offices. Other amenities include:
- Heavy hors d’oeuvres prepared by Avenue Foods along with an exclusive tasting of fine French wines (12–3pm)
- Private portable restrooms
- Special presentation about the beverage-related artifacts found on the property
- Private performance by Thomas Jefferson, portrayed by Bill Barker of the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, and his guest, viticulturalist Gabrielle Rausse
- Poplar Forest keepsake
Regular Admission tickets are $25 in advance (highly recommended); $30 at the door; non-tasting tickets are $10 in advance and at the door. VIP tent are $125/individual and $225/couple.
