Following a brief winter break, Poplar Forest reopens to the public for Winter Weekends on Saturdays and Sundays from January 15 through March 13, 2022. Visitors are invited to explore Jefferson’s villa retreat on an hour-long, docent-guided group tour (when available), offered 10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. each day, or take the Poplar Forest app audio tour at any time. Walk the grounds, visit the slave quarter site and browse the exhibits in the lower level of the house. General admission rates apply. Visit Poplar Forest

Poplar Forest is open daily mid-January through February 10am-4pm, March through November 10am-5pm, and December 1st through 30th from 10am-4pm for docent-guided or self-guided tours. Docent-guided tours are currently offered four times daily as docents are available. Poplar Forest is closed on Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
