Join the Friends of Jefferson’s Poplar Forest! Show your support for Poplar Forest by becoming a member. Members are eligible for certain benefits throughout the year, as described below.

Membership Levels

Scholar’s Society

$40–249

  • Membership card good for unlimited admission for 2 adults and dependent children (excluding certain events)
  • A subscription to Notes on the State of Poplar Forest, Poplar Forest’s semi-annual newsletter
  • Monthly e-newsletter
  • 10% Museum Shop discount

Burgess’s Society

$250–499

  • All of the above benefits, plus:
  • July 4th Celebration admission for two

Ambassador’s Society

$500–999

  • All of the above benefits, plus:
  • Poplar Forest Insights from the President
  • July 4th Celebration admission for four

Governor’s Society

$1,000–2,499

  • Membership card good for unlimited admission for 2 adults and dependent children (excluding certain events)
  • A subscription to Notes on the State of Poplar Forest, Poplar Forest’s semi-annual newsletter
  • Monthly e-newsletter
  • 10% Museum Shop discount
  • Two complimentary tickets to Conversations with Thomas Jefferson and our annual Thomas Jefferson Wine Festival.

Secretary of State’s Society

$2,500–4,999

  • Membership card good for unlimited admission for 2 adults and dependent children (excluding certain events)
  • A subscription to Notes on the State of Poplar Forest, Poplar Forest’s semi-annual newsletter
  • Monthly e-newsletter
  • 10% Museum Shop discount
  • A private brunch at Poplar Forest hosted by Mr. Jefferson (Spring 2016) and behind-the-scenes update tours

President’s Society

$5,000–9,999

  • Membership card good for unlimited admission for 2 adults and dependent children (excluding certain events)
  • A subscription to Notes on the State of Poplar Forest, Poplar Forest’s semi-annual newsletter
  • Monthly e-newsletter
  • 10% Museum Shop discount
  • Poplar Forest Retreat Weekend to include: Private dinner hosted by Mr. Jefferson (held in the cube-shaped dining room) breakfast with guest speaker, and behind-the-scenes update tours
  • A complimentary Scholar’s Society membership to be given as a gift

Regent’s Society

$10,000–24,999

  • Membership card good for unlimited admission for 2 adults and dependent children (excluding certain events)

  • Monthly e-newsletter
  • 10% Museum Shop discount

The Thomas Jefferson Society

from $25,000

  • Monthly e-newsletter
  • 10% Museum Shop discount

Friends who include Jefferson’s Poplar Forest in their estate plans are recognized as members of the Thomas Jefferson Circle.
